Use Exercise DVD’s to Add Variety to Your Workout

by Rob

If you exercise at home are you like me and easily get bored with the same workouts? I have an elliptical trainer which I really like but I do get bored doing the same thing every time. I’ve tried watching TV or listening to music which does help but I wanted to find a way to add some variety into my exercise schedule. While browsing Amazon I cam across some interesting exercise DVDs and am kicking myself that I didn’t think of this before. They are perfect for varying your routine! I went a bit mad and bought too many to start with so I am going through them to see which ones I like and feel comfortable with.

I am not so young any more and don’t want a too vigorous workout so I opted for some beginner’s exercise DVD’s and one for yoga. I did attend yoga classes a few years ago and liked the gentle, stretching and toning of the exercises so I’m going to use that one, alternating with a more active DVD. Hopefully this will allow me to achieve the fitness I would like and help to stave off the boredom. I am still using my elliptical trainer as I do enjoy this type of exercise but now that I have some alternatives it is more enjoyable.

Exercise DVD’s are reasonably cheap (a Yoga for Beginner’s DVD cost me $10) so you can buy a few and see which ones you like without spending toomuch. I did buy one that looked good but proved to be too hard for my present level of fitness so I’ve put that one away and will see if I can tackle it in a few months time!

Make sure you take into account how fit you are before you choose one. It’s a good idea to check out the reviews  and see which ones people liked or check out Amazon’s bestsellers and put some excitement back into your home fitness workouts.
