What is the Spicy Lemonade Detox Diet?

by Rob

One of the diets that is getting talked about and tried by many is the spicy lemonade diet, which features 10 days of drinking a lemon juice, water, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper beverage that people claim detoxifies the body and helps a person lose weight.

This lemon drink beverage consists of a 10-ounce base of purified, distilled, or spring water mixed with 2 tablespoons of lime or lemon juice, a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to taste, and grade B organic maple syrup. A person should drink four to six glasses of this concoction, though many others encourage drinking even more. This unique beverage should be fresh daily in order to keep the ingredients and the drink’s health benefit at optimum effectiveness.

Those individuals that use this detox and diet method mention the possibility of experiencing a few side effects from the diet. Participants can initially feel tired, become moody, and experience headaches. Those that drink a great deal of coffee attribute the headaches and other side effects to the lack of caffeine in the beverage. During the 10-day program, participants can also drink herbal teas, but are not to eat any solid foods. Some people start the lemonade diet fast by getting a salt water cleansing flush.

During the diet, you should also drink great amounts of water each day so that you body can flush the toxins from your system. Additionally, the water provides refreshment and revitalization to your body. When the diet concludes, the participants should end the fast by consuming a glass full of fresh orange juice. After that, introduce other fruit juices to your system before beginning to introduce solid foods back into your system.

This lemon beverage diet is not new; it also goes by the name of Master Cleanse. The diet received new attention recently and took another alias as the Beyonce Diet when the singer credited her significant weight loss to the lemonade diet.
