Polar F11 Quick Review

by Rob

The Polar F11 happens to be probably the best heart rate monitor for literally everyone who wants to raise his or her level of fitness through a heart rate focused program.

As sport watches type heart rate monitors go, the Polar F11 HRM is not nearly as complicated as the S-series, which does everything from monitoring your heart rate to driving a race car, but it does have the right fitness features to get you safely on track toward reaching your fitness goals.

The F11 Polar is designed to assist you in reaching your fitness goals the smarter way rather than the harder way and it has built-in tools to make the road to optimal fitness easier as it clearly guides you through each and every workout session.

The Polar F11 heart rate monitor has a one-of-a-kind KeepsUFit program that not only tells you how hard to work out, but it also tells you how long and how much too.  It can totally design your workout program for you based on a 5-minute fitness test.  The program stresses fitness rather than momentary performance.

Compared to the more expensive Garmin Forerunner 301, the F11′s method of counting calories burned during your workout is much more accurate.  It operates on the science that the more your fitness level improves, the fewer calories you will burn.

Interestingly, the results of the OwnCal feature are very close to what you would get from the calorie counting gadgets in the better gyms across the country.

As most fitness enthusiasts know by now, the older a person gets the more important it is to keep accurate track of how your heart is behaving during exercise.

It is critical that when you are older or have a heart condition, regardless of your age, to exercise within a predetermined heart rate zone that is appropriate for your age and weight, and current fitness level.  In fact, it could be down right hazardous to your health to overstress your heart by attempting to get back into shape too quickly.

On the other side of the coin, it is important to know that you are not exercising hard enough to gradually increase your level of fitness.
